Abstract

The dangers and human rights violations faced by migrants in transit between Mexico and the United States expose them to a triple vulnerability due to their irregular migratory status. The purpose of this paper is to describe the increase in violence in various regions of the country committed against this population. The analysis of data collected by the Migration Policy Unit (UPM) between 2019 and 2023, as well as the use of Google Earth Pro, make it possible to develop a geographic representation of the localities that suffer the most aggressions. The results of the analysis indicate that the Southern Border region and the Gulf route are the most dangerous, and that young people, women, and Honduran migrants are the most vulnerable due to their undocumented status.
