The objective of this article is to understand how avocado production can generate significant environmental, social, and economic impacts, which is causing controversy among the population. Therefore, this study aims to demonstrate and describe the perceptions of the residents of Uruapan regarding the potential impacts of this economic activity. The instrument used to gather the necessary information was a questionnaire, administered to 120 residents of Uruapan, aged between 24 and 35 years. The questionnaire consisted of 39 questions with 5 categories using a Likert scale. Descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used for data analysis and interpretation. Based on this, the following hypothesis is established: avocado production in Uruapan, Michoacán, generates both negative and/or positive impacts on the environmental, social, and economic sectors of the Uruapan population.
