China, el t-mec y la incertidumbre ante el covid-19

Resumen

Las relaciones comerciales de China con el resto del mundo, afectadas por la pandemia del COVID-19, y particularmente con las economías de América del Norte, son los aspectos centrales de este trabajo. En él nos proponemos revisar los nexos económicos de China con los tres países norteamericanos. El análisis se hará guardando la perspectiva histórica, analizando cronológica y razonablemente primero los antecedentes más inmediatos y después los que transcurren ante el amago de la propagación del virus letal. Se destaca cómo se han trastornado los vínculos económicos de la relación del gigante asiático con esta región, integrada en un mecanismo de integración que sucedió al TLCAN en un contexto de incertidumbre. Se revisa caso por caso y en forma integral cómo, ante esta amenaza sanitaria global, se comportan los vínculos entre la potencia del Pacífico oriental y el bloque occidental de dicho océano.

China’s trade relations with the rest of the world, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and particularly with the economies of North America, are the central aspects of this work. In it, we propose to review China’s economic ties with the three North American countries. The analysis will be carried out keeping the historical perspective, analyzing chronologically and reasonably first the immediate antecedents and then those that occur before the threat of the spread of the lethal virus. It highlights how the economic ties of the Asian giant’s relationship with this region have been upset, integrated into an integration mechanism that succeeded NAFTA in a context of uncertainty. It is reviewed case by case and in a comprehensive way, how, in the face of this global health threat, the links between the power of the eastern Pacific and the western bloc of said ocean behave.
