Historia de la Migración en Michoacán

RESUMEN
La migración mexicana tiene una larga tradición histórica, ocupando un lugar
único en la migración hacia Estados Unidos, fenómeno que puede ser
entendido cabalmente si conocemos aquel proceso histórico importante en la
conformación del flujo migratorio. Debe tomarse en cuenta que se trata de
dos países que comparten una muy larga frontera y que gran parte del territorio
actual de Estados Unidos (California, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Nuevo México
y Texas) perteneció a México hasta mediados del siglo XIX. Componentes
como la situación geográfica, los lazos culturales, la vinculación económica y
las relaciones comerciales han acentuado la magnitud de los flujos migratorios.
En la actualidad los migrantes mexicanos así como sus descendientes son la
minoría social y cultural más influyente dentro de los Estados Unidos y un
factor de sobrevivencia para muchos mexicanos en el país.

ABSTRACT
The Mexican migration has one long historical tradition, occupying a unique
place in the migration towards the United States, phenomenon that can be
understood exactly if we know that important historical process in the
conformation the migratory flow. It must be taken into account that these
two countries that share a very long border and that great part of the present
territory of the United States (Californian, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas) belonged to Mexico until half-full of century XIX.Components like the geographic situation, the cultural bows, the economic
integration and the commercial relations have accentuated the magnitude of
the migratory flows. At the present time the Mexican migrants as well as their
descendants are the most influential within the United States and a factor of
helping minority for many Mexicans in the country.
